Experience:
- Systems Consultant: as systems consultant for the Office of Research at Concordia University I developed and maintained MS SQL and Oracle databases. I developed a grants and contracts reporting system using PHP and MS SQL. I built and maintained a Server 2003 file, print, and Active Directory server. I maintained the offices website, fulfilled data requests, and oversaw the daily technical operations of the office.
- Technical Director: as Technical Director for Montreal Media (a small multimedia company developing dynamic database driven websites) I have built, maintained, and monitored the company’s internal network, internal servers, and collocated hosting servers. I have been responsible for providing DNS, email, web, and database services to upwards of 20 client companies. In addition, I have developed database drive websites, I have written maintenance scripts using Perl and Bash, developed backup strategies, set network usage policies, trained staff, and managed employees.
- Consultant: as a consultant my two most notable clients have been the World Bank, and Discreet Logic. For the World Bank (Rural Development Sector) I developed the Producer Organizations intranet web presence and updated the Agricultural Knowledge and Information Systems database. For Discreet Logic I refined their web log statistics, and rebuilt their video card compatibility database. As a subcontractor for Radicaux I’ve built custom firewalls, setup file servers and implemented network infrastructures for several small businesses. As a subcontractor for the Spider Web Collective I’ve developed web based solutions for several DC based companies.
- System Administrator / Senior Programmer: as the System Administrator of Iron Horse Multimedia I’ve implemented and maintained a hybrid internal network. I’ve built and administered Iron Horse’s firewall, file servers, development server, web server, and mail server. As senior programmer for Iron Horse Multimedia I’ve supervised the development staff, trained individuals in the use of various production tools, and facilitated the roll out of our various products.
